Dale Huebo!!!
I’m having hernia surgery on Monday. I’ve noticed I’ve been more nervous/embarrassed about telling people that information but I have absolutely no problem telling them that I am totally looking forward to all the Vicadin that they will be giving me afterwords.
Had a show at the Beat Kitchen last night. Good times. Thanks to those who came out. Favorite parts of the show:
1) Hearing Sean Flannery say “Axel Foley” onstage.
2) Watching Jeff Hansen make audience members do “coke” off a table.
Last night is going to be my last show for a lil’ bit until after my surgery. I plan on having a nice night on Sunday watching the Oscars. I really don’t know why I watch them. All they do is make me angry. Furious. Seething. Silent. Anger. This is footage of one such moment. Quick backstory on this. I first saw a picture of Eddie Murphy on the set of Dreamgirls in Entertainment Weekly about a year and a half before the movie came out. Based on that picture there was no doubt in my mind he was going to win the Oscar. No diggity No doubt. I told a select few. They were like sure Ricky. I said just wait! You’ll see. The movie comes out and it’s a huge success. Then award season began and Eddie was getting nominated and winning: Golden Globes, check. SAG Award, check. Oscar nomination, BAM! What did I say! And finally the night of the Oscars. I’ve got my homeboys around me, my brother’s there. I’ve been waiting all year (my life really) for this moment and what happens. Well, watch and see:
